While this week wasn’t full of expectations on the big budget movies side, there are some interesting treats to discover in smaller cinemas like LAB111, screening tonight Leviathan with English subtitles, or Filmhuis Cavia which tonight and tomorrow is showing Crimson Gold (2003), by Jafar Panahi, the Iranian director whose movies are still banned by his government but awarded worldwide.
EYE and Rialto are also screening Timbuktu, by Abderrahmane Sissako: a terribly actual portrait of Jiadism, Oscar nominated this year and part of the Movies That Matters festival in Den Haag.
Moreover, last days to join the RozeFilmdagen, the LGBT film festival, screening at Het Ketelhuis until the 22nd.
